The annual 5K run/1 mile walk benefits Stop the Suffering, a 501(c)(3) based in Columbus, Ohio that saves animals from shelters and other situations in which their lives may otherwise be at risk. Each year STS adopts out about 500-600 dogs, transports around 4,000 cats and dogs from rural shelters to rescues organizations, and sponsors the vet care, boarding expenses and other costs needed to help save an animal’s life. Additionally, to help control the pet overpopulation crisis, STS is expanding its mission to help rural shelter partners and underprivileged pet parents obtain access to spay and neuter services.
Strollers and social, vaccinated, leashed dogs are welcome. Please no retractable/flexi leads.
This is a rain or shine event. In the instance of severe weather it would be up to the race director to call it for the safety of all participants, volunteers, and vendors.
