SUMMARY:"Head For The Hills!" To Support Moreland Hills Parks
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Village of Moreland Hills is home to some prized and pristine green space. Our parks range from U.S. President James A. Garfield’s cabin and birth site to the rolling hills of the 142-acre Forest Ridge Preserve to sections of the Cleveland Metroparks South Chagrin Reservation\, all offering great opportunities to explore the outdoors. \nTo assist the Village with park maintenance\, improvement and expansion\, the Moreland Hills Parks Commission invites you to join our fundraising efforts by participating in our first annual “Head For The Hills!” virtual run/hike event. Your $30 donation will grow our Parks Fund which will aid future projects\, including the creation of a pavilion and restroom facility where a home was recently eliminated behind the fishing pond on River Road.  Donations above the registration fee are very welcome too! \nChoose your route – a 1.5-mile hike in beautiful Forest Ridge\, a 5K run on the South Chagrin trails\, or a run/hike of your own choice. All participants receive a special “Head For The Hills!” shirt\, and will be eligible for random giveaways from our sponsors\, including gift cards from Fleet Feet. \nRegister and complete your run/hike anytime between Oct 31st and Nov 8th.  Later in November\, shirts will be available for pickup at the Moreland Hills Village Community Building (instructions for pickup available following the event). \nHelp us improve and preserve our fantastic parks. DESCRIPTION:    \nThe mission of the Rotary Honors Veterans 5k Run/Walk is “to honor\, celebrate\, and recognize those Veterans that have provided the ultimate ‘Service Above Self’ commitment by serving and giving of themselves to our country.” Each year our race committee will select a different local Veteran organization to be a beneficiary of this event. \nThis year’s beneficiary is: \nSEALKIDS\, through its programs\, supports the children of Naval Special Warfare—everyday kids living in extraordinary circumstances. This encompassing approach of academic testing\, tutoring\, therapy\, advocacy\, and enrichment fosters the success and well-being of the child\, critically reducing family stresses and ultimately keeping today’s Navy SEAL in the fight.  SEALKIDS is the only organization in the world solely focused on helping the children of Navy SEALs. SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Wattle
DESCRIPTION:This is the 9th Annual Thanksgiving Wattle 5K Run/Walk in Grove City\, Ohio. We are calling this year’s event a HYBRID Event. This means we will offer an in-person option and a virtual option for the 5K and the 12 Mile Rotisserie Roll Bike Ride. (We will be offering an in-person run only for the Primrose Children’s Run.) The in-person events are scheduled for Thanksgiving Day Morning\, November 26\, 2020. The Virtual Options can be done anytime from November 25th-November 26th. Virtual 5K Runners/Walkers will be able to upload their times in a special area on the runsignup.com site for virtual participants. We offer Virtual Options for those who want to be part of the community event\, but for a variety of reasons may not attend the In-person event on Thanksgiving morning. They may be uncomfortable for signing up for an in-person event\, they may be living away from home\, or are traveling and out of town on Thanksgiving morning. In the event any governing authority forces us to cancel our in-person event between now and event day due to COVID reasons\, we will switch over to virtual options for both the 5K\, the Rotisserie Roll Bike Ride and the Primrose Children’s Run. DESCRIPTION:Our desire is to promote community within Hamilton\, while being both active and supporting a good cause. As a city\, Hamilton is on the rise. The growth is evident in the new construction\, new businesses\, and increased presence of well-attended events like the Hamilton Flea\, Alive After 5 and our new Midnight Madness Marathon.
