SUMMARY:Fisher Serves 5k/10k
DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2018″ month=”4″ day=”7″ hour=”6″ minute=”30″] \n \nThe Fisher Serves 5k/10k is FS’s largest annual event. All proceeds of this event will go to a charity which will be decided by registered runners the day of the event. Each pre-registered runner will receive a technical race t-shirt and food at the finish line. Be sure to arrive early to get your photo with Brutus! Registration will be at the volleyball pavilion just southwest of the intersection of Lane Ave. and Kenny Rd. Bib pick up and day-of registration will begin at 7:00 AM. All races begin at 8:00 AM. New for 2018\, registered runners will have the opportunity to decide where the proceeds of the race will be donated. Each runner will receive a form to choose their favorite charity. DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for our 5K walk/run event in support of our LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. Your supports helps cancer survivor participants feel empowered to regain their health. \nThe LIVESTRONG at the YMCA 5K Walk/Run supports a unique program only provided in YMCAs across the country to the increasing number of cancer survivors\, who are in a transitional period between completing their treatments and feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to return to regular activity. All at no cost to the cancer survivor. \nStrollers and pets on a leash are permitted to participate with no additional cost but will start at the back of the race for runners and walkers. This charity race will benefit 4 Paws for Ability\, a nonprofit\, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to place quality service dogs with children with disabilities and veterans who have lost use of limbs or hearing; help with animal rescue\, and educate the public regarding use of service dogs in public places. SUMMARY:OWBC Redbud Trail Challenge
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n\nAre You Ready for the 2018 Redbud Trail Challenge?\nJoin us for what we think is the “Most Rugged and Beautiful Trail Race in Ohio”. The Redbud Trail Challenge is a grueling Trail Hike/Run to benefit Ohio Wilderness Boys Camp (OWBC). Bring the whole family to participate and choose between a 5K\, 10K\, or 20K trail course. It will be run on OWBC’s rugged 600 acre forested property located in the hills of Southeast Ohio. \nThe OWBC RedBud Trail Challenge. . .\nThe Redbud Trail Challenge will do just that: Challenge your will\, mind\, and body just to finish this course. But it will be worth every bit of energy and will-power you spend. The trail will go through 2 primitive campsites (the 5K will go through 1 campsite) which the boys built and where they reside. A few more unique features are crossing the 68′ span “Nehemiah” suspension bridge (which the boys built)\, the beautiful springtime forest lush with Redbud and Dogwood blossoms\, and huge boulders along the trail. \nThere will be 3 refreshment/first aid stations (2 on the 5K course) spread out over the course of the trail. The 10K trail is strenuous and has over 1\,700′ of elevation gain and is approximately 40% technical single track and 60% old logging trails. The 20K trail will be twice around the 10K course and is not for the faint of heart. The 5K is perfect for the whole family because it is less rugged for those who want the fun of hiking in the woods\, but not the difficulty and length of the 10K or 20K. All participants who register on or before April 26\, 2018 will receive a race t-shirt and a gift from OWBC. You also can wait to register until Race Day from 7:15 – 8:30 am (Race Day registration costs $5 more). After the event\, get refreshed and fellowship with your friends while enjoying a scrumptious meal for the whole family. All proceeds from the race will support the mission of Ohio Wilderness Boys Camp\, a nonprofit organization helping troubled boys and their families find new hope.
