DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”4″ day=”21″ hour=”19″ minute=”0″] \n \nBy hosting this 5K event we will collectively shine the light of recovery into the darkness of addiction to let others know that recovery is possible\, beautiful and here in our community! So please join us! Come and “Let YOUR Light Shine”! \nNone of us have to look very far to see the devastating effects addiction has on individuals\, families\, children and communities.  The devastation is heartbreaking to say the least.  We would like to take the time to let individuals\, families and communities know that recovery is here in our community and available to anyone who wants it.  Addiction does NOT have to be a death sentence or a jail sentence.  There are agencies\, churches and people who are willing to fight the battle of addiction and are determined to continue fighting as long as their are addicts who want the help. \n5K Recovery Glow Run/Walk is an oppurtunity for those who have made the choice to seek recovery\, fight the battle of addiction and who have chose to be drug free to let their light shine and to celebrate the lives of those individuals who are living proof that recovery is possible.\nSo please join us!  Come and “Let YOUR Light Shine”! \nMore About The Charity \nAll proceeds from this event will go toward prevention and recovery efforts in Ross County.  A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the MADE\, My Attitude Determines Everything\, of Drug Free Clubs of America in high schools of Ross County.  Also to help fund the Recovery Rally scheduled for September of 2017. \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5krecovery.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=9015″ icon=”icon-info” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Race Details[/button] \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5krecovery.itsyourrace.com/results.aspx?id=9015″ icon=”icon-external-link” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Results & Photos![/button]

SUMMARY:Run Down the Demons - OSU 5k Obstacle Race
DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”4″ day=”1″ hour=”8″ minute=”0″] \n \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://rundownthedemons.itsyourrace.com/Results.aspx?id=4937″ icon=”icon-external-link” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Results & Photos![/button] \n  \nThe mission of Run Down The Demons™ is to address issues surrounding suicides\, post-traumatic stress disorder\, and other mental health disorders related to veterans\, active service members\, and/or their family members by providing education\, raising awareness and providing resources to those we serve. \nWatch the 2016 5k Rewind Video \nOur 5k event course is designed to be mentally and physically challenging – similar to experiencing the “unknowns” associated with PTSD. The location of all obstacles are shared with you; however\, the TYPE of obstacle that you will encounter is “unknown.” Don’t worry though\, our obstacles aren’t as physically taxing compared to other races and you are provided with the option to skip an obstacle if necessary. \n \nStatistical boards with information about veteran-related mental health complications are strategically placed throughout the course. We highly recommend that you read and remember this information because you will be quizzed on the information at one of our Mental Checkpoints. The location of these checkpoints are undisclosed purposely to provide additional experiences of the “unknown.” \n \nThe goal of this event is to raise awareness about PTSD\, suicide prevention\, and mitigating the stigma associated with these issues within our military community. We aim to provide you with a physically\, mentally\, and an emotionally difficult course with your safety in mind. Experiencing PTSD and the “unknowns” associated with it\, creates frustration and discourse in the lives of those who suffer from it. Coming together to provide the proper resources and support elements is crucial to this healing process and we need you now\, more than ever! \nWe look forward to seeing you at our THIRD annual event of April 1\, 2017! \nGreat SWAG – Race Medal & Wrist Band\nCheck back in for images of the great SWAG you will receive! \nCharity Beneficiary\nRun Down The Demons \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://rundownthedemons.itsyourrace.com/” icon=”icon-info” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Race Details[/button] \n  \nThank You 2016 Sponsors! \n\n[button id=”button_92″ size=”small” link=”https://www.facebook.com/rundownthedemons/” icon=”icon-facebook” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Facebook[/button] \n[button id=”button_92″ size=”small” link=”https://twitter.com/r_d_t_d” icon=”icon-twitter” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Twitter[/button]
