SUMMARY:5k Got Chocolate? Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”11″ day=”4″ hour=”8″ minute=”0″] \n \n5K Got Chocolate? Run/Walk\nThis 5K Run/Walk occurs on the bike path\, with runners and walkers lining up at the starting line adjacent to the Xenia Station Hub. We will have the race registration and administration table located at the Xenia Station picnic shelter. Participants can enjoy chocolate candies during and after the run/walk. We will be awarding chocolate baskets to the first two participants to cross the finish line. We will also have a variety of chocolate treats to share after the race/walk is over. \nThe 5K Got Chocolate? Run/Walk on November 4\, 2017 is one of the major fundraising events for the IHN/Schneider House of Hope of Greene County.  Your participation fee and donation will go towards assisting displaced families to bounce back from homelessness with our help.  Homeless families are similar to other families but\, due to some crisis or lack of skills\, are in need of resources such as ours. \nIHN/Schneider House of Hope\nThe IHN/Schneider House of Hope is one of two organizations providing shelter to our homeless families in Greene County.  Our shelter families include one or two parents\, teenagers\, young children\, and infants.  Being nonprofit\, we rely on individuals\, churches\, businesses\, organizations\, and fundraisers such as this one to help us continue our work.  IHN network volunteers provide evening meals and serve as overnight hosts.  Our staff serves daytime meals\, provides support\, and links families with community services\, housing\, medical\, and employment resources. \nYour caring will help us to continue our mission. \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5kgotchocolaterunwalk.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=9962″ icon=”icon-info” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Race Details[/button] \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5kgotchocolaterunwalk.itsyourrace.com/EventSchedule.aspx?id=9962″ icon=”icon-time” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Event Schedule[/button] \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5kgotchocolaterunwalk.itsyourrace.com/Fundraising.aspx?id=9962″ icon=”icon-heart” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Funraising / Donate![/button] \n  \n[button id=”button_70″ size=”small” link=”http://5kgotchocolaterunwalk.itsyourrace.com/results.aspx?id=9962″ icon=”icon-external-link” text_color=”#0d4559″ bg_color=”#0d4559″ text_color_hover=”#ffffff” bg_color_hover=”#0d4559″]Results & Photos![/button]

DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”6″ day=”24″ hour=”7″ minute=”30″] \n \n  \nThe Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is proud to sponsor our 24th Annual Optimist Triathlon! This year we are again expanding our reach to include more age groups in the Multisport lifestyle.\nAlthough we are primarily a competitive sprint adult race\, we are also family friendly. So we are expanding our race to include an opportunity for youth to be involved and have added a Kayak solo and Kayak team option for those that want to opt out of the traditional sprint swim event. \nYouth will use the same Swim\, Bike and Run racecourse as the adults\, but each event will be shortened. Youth waves will launch immediately after all adult waves.\nWe will have over 100 experienced volunteers participating to help make this race THE BEST RACE OF YOUR RACING YEAR! \nThat is our goal. And when you cross the finish line\, you will be treated to the best after race food you can find at any Triathlon! Chicken\, polish pierogies\, pizza\, fresh fruit and more!\nWe are again expecting well over 600 participants this year.\nCOME ON… JOIN US FOR A FUN DAY!! \nThe Optimist Club is a not for profit that donates all proceeds of this race to our youth outreach programs in our community and we are well known in our area for our support of many youth oriented activities. Please feel free to investigate our website for a full list of these events. \nLocation\nWarsaw / Winona Lake is in north central Indiana\, on US Highway 30\, about 40 miles West of Ft. Wayne. This group will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants. We have applied to USAT for sanctioning of this event\, but at this time\, we are not certain of the outcome. It is certain that all participants in this wave will be disqualified from Triathlon Sprint prizes and the Timer will be instructed to NOT report participants times to USAT. We reserve the right to terminate acceptance of further DQ applicants when we reach approximately 30 participants. This wave is intended to be a fun wave to help introduce adult participants to the sport. Kayak option contestants MUST wear a personal flotation devise and will wear a timing chip so that their times can be recorded. Participants must supply their own kayak\, personal flotation devise and paddles. Top finishers in this group will be presented a race participation medallion. \nSpecial Adult TEAM Kayak/Bike/Run\nAthletes may also elect to participate as a Team in the Kayak/Bike/Run. If you want to compete in this wave\, you MUST select this option during the registration process and provide your own Kayak\, paddle and personal lifejacket. \nSpecial note for Kayak participants- \nThe Optimist Club recognizes that delivery of both bikes and kayaks on the morning of the event presents a logistics challenge. Therefore\, kayak participants may opt to deliver to the designated area at Winona Lake Park beach\, their kayak\, personal floatation device and paddle on the evening before the race. All night security personal will be provided at the park on that evening. Kayaks may be delivered after 6:00 PM on Friday evening and must be removed by no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday.
