DESCRIPTION:We love virtual events. But\, there’s so much we miss about racing… \nThe course… \nThe timing… \nThe competition… \nThe team… \nHere’s our take on a race challenge that will allow you and your team to compete for Citywide bragging rights. \nTHE RACE\nRace in person on a set course\, get true timed results\, all while meeting social distancing guidelines. \nThe race is $100.00 per team (4 runners @ $25/each). You must register all 4 people at the same time. Everyone must be in the same race (mens/women/coed)\, and you must put everyone on the same team. \nWhen you register for the race you will select a time slot. During that time slot your team will be the only 4 people on race site. Your team will rotate through a 1 mile loop course\, each person takes a turn\, then another\, then another\, then another.  Completing as many laps as they can during the 2 hour window.  You will run with a track baton that contains an timing chip.  Your laps will be counted electronically\, and results will be updated as each team finishes.  We will even capture finisher photos for each member of each team!! \nRace will be scored as men’s teams\, women’s teams\, and co-ed teams (2 men\, 2 women). We’ll also have masters category (all members age 40+) of each division.  Let’s have some fun with this and see who’s the fastest in Columbus. \nTIME SLOTS\nMay 22nd – 31st \nEach Day (weekends and weekdays) the following time slots will be available \n6:00-8:00am \n9:00-11:00am \n12:00-2:00pm \n3:00-5:00pm \n6:00-8:00pm \n5 slots per day for 10 days. DESCRIPTION:The Linden Classic 5k Run/Walk is an ode to one of Columbus’ oldest\, most well-established neighborhoods. The annual event is a unique celebration of faith\, fitness\, and fellowship. Starting at New Salem Baptist Church\, 2956 Cleveland Ave. at 8:30 am\, the 5k will wind through the neighborhood\, down Cleveland Ave\, and turn at 17th Ave to finish at St. Stephen’s Community House. \nRegistration and race day packet pick-up will begin at 7:00 am at New Salem Baptist Church\, 2956 Cleveland Ave. \nUpon the  finish at St. Stephen’s Community House\, shuttles will be available to transport runners/walkers back to their cars parked at New Salem Baptist Church. Shuttles will run while the race is in process and continue until 4:00 pm. \nRace participants can also choose to park at St. Stephen’s\, but must depart on the shuttles to New Salem Church at either 7:00 am or the final shuttle at 7:30 am to reach the starting line in time. \nCreating a connected community is our priority! Participants are encouraged to register in advance. The 1M Walk will begin at 8:30am with the 5K Run to follow at 9am. The 5K Run starts and finishes at the Olentangy Liberty High School Stadium. The 1M Walk route proceeds around the grounds of Olentangy Liberty High School. In addition to a fantastic event\, the Patriots for Freedom event will once again be holding a generous raffle with many donations from local businesses. Each event participant will receive one free raffle ticket with the opportunity to purchase additional tickets.\n \nHonor Flight recognizes our military veterans by funding trips to Washington D.C. to visit the war memorials. Pets Without Parents is an all-breed\, no-kill\, non-profit shelter for dogs and cats located in the Clintonville area of Columbus\, Ohio. Adoptions fees only cover ~31% of the total cost of care for our pets. We rely on fundraisers like these to make our rescue efforts possible! \nCome and see what everyone has been barking about! There will be vendors\, food\, music\, prizes and other give-a-ways\, adoptable dogs from Pets Without Parents\, and lots of lots of fun for a very special cause! For my senior capstone project I have decided to use my passion for running and exercise to help give the kids at The Homeless Families Foundation\, an opportunity to pursue their self goals. Please join us for the first Movin’ It 5K Race/ Walk For Homeless Families Foundation on November 5th\, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Griggs Reservoir. The race will be held in efforts to end the cycle of homelessness in the Columbus area. At Homeless Families Foundation (HFF) in Columbus\, Oh\, we have a goal to teach children the strength to grow independently and believe in themselves. One way HFF encourages children\, is through exercise to build physical and mental strength. The need for tennis shoes\, as well as indoor gym equipment for HFF is in high demand\, especially with winter approaching. There is no official “fee” for the race\, but we would life if each participant could donate one\, or more pairs of gently used/ new tennis shoes for kid and adult sizes. Money donations can be made by clicking the link below\, or on the day of the race. 100% of the donations will go to gym equipment for HFF at the DOWD center located in Columbus. Shoe bins will be provided at the race\, along with live entertainment\, food\, and a race goody bag for each participant\, we hope you can make it!
