DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWipe Out Cancer 5K is raising money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation\, as the search for a cure for Multiple Myeloma. The Wipe out Cancer 5k is being organized as a fund raiser for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) and all proceeds will be donated to the organization. \n\n\n\nA little back story on the race director: \n\n\n\n“I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer in Oct 2020. Multiple Myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer and has a 5-year survival rate of about 60%. By March of 2021\, they were able to get it into remission\, it will come back. On March 24\, 2021\, I was admitted into the James and received my dose of Chemo. On March 26\,2021\, I received some of my Stem Cells back and then was released 10 days later the cancer being in remission. It is still in remission today\, I know the cancer will come back\, as there is no cure as of today\, and this is where MMRF comes into play. They are searching for a cure for Multiple Myeloma\, but as of today\, there has been great progress in keeping the cancer in remission\, but no cure. Before the cancer\, and for the past 14 years\, I have done many races. Anything from the London Marathon to the Spartan Beast. 5k’s\, 10k’s\, 15k’s\, half marathons and 25k’s. I wanted to keep going after my treatment and 11 months after the treatments\, I was able to complete the Warmup Columbus Half Marathon and 2 weeks later the Ft. Lauderdale A1A Half Marathon. \n\n\n\nIn return for my fundraising\, I was given an entry into the NYC Marathon on November 2\,2025. This will be my 2nd World major\, with London being completed April 2024. One where kids could come and try out running events if they were new to it\, or challenge themselves to run further or faster than they had before. Maybe even get ready for their cross country season in the fall! \n\n\n\nSo what is this?\n\n\n\nA three event race series to take place in June\, July\, and August! \n\n\n\nRACE DATESJUNE 11th JULY 16thAUGUST 13thThe races will start promptly at 6:00pm in the evening\, so parents and kiddos can get to the races on time!  \n\n\n\nSounds great! Where are the races?\n\n\n\nWe have a loop course at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. The races will start at the Dog Park area of the park (Google Maps pin here)Course Map (1 and 2 mile options)available here Course Map (1/2 mile option) available here \n\n\n\nThat’s fun! Can they switch distances? \n\n\n\nSure thing! We understand that young athletes have their ups and downs just like adult athletes. It’s best to talk with your athlete multiple times before race day to see what distance they’d like to run. Try to ask them if they’d like to beat their previous best mile time\, or try a new distance. It’s always good to remind athletes that it’s ok to be nervous about a race\, but just remind them that they’ll learn something from each race experience no matter how it goes. \n\n\n\nAthletes should try to make their decision before the race if possible\, but if they need to switch after doing one loop they need to immediately tell the Race Penguin timing staff so we can ensure correct results.If they are switching from the 1/2-mile race to another distance\, DO NOT START WITH THE OTHER 1/2 MILE RACERS. Please see the Race Penguin staff before the start of the race you’re planning on racing so they can switch you. \n\n\n\nYou will select your distance FOR ALL THREE EVENTS during registration. Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths and often shows little to no warning until it has progressed\, making awareness and education lifesaving. \n\n\n\nAt the event\, we will provide critical information about lung cancer risks\, warning signs\, screening\, and information on support resources for patients and families. All proceeds from the Breathe Strong 5K will directly support lung cancer research and family support groups through a donation to the Blue Beautiful Skies Fund for Lung Cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- The James. Donations help fund breakthroughs\, offer hope\, and remind everyone that they don’t face this disease alone. Together\, we walk to remember\, to educate\, and to help every breath count. DESCRIPTION:AIDS Walk Ohio will take place in downtown Columbus on April 18\, 2026. Participate in person at Genoa Park or virtually in your own neighborhood. Click here to access the 2026 AIDS Walk Ohio social media toolkit! \n\n\n\nAIDS Walk Ohio is one of the largest opportunities for the public to give back in this capacity. Over 1\,000 people from across the state will come together to raise critical funds for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention programs. SUMMARY:Stop the Suffering 5k
DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n– STS Store\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Fundraising\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n – Facebook\n\n\n\n – Instagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe annual 5K run/1 mile walk benefits Stop the Suffering\, a 501 (c)(3) based in Columbus\, Ohio\, that saves animals from shelters and other situations in which their lives might be at risk. STS adopts about 500 dogs a year and transports around 4\,000 cats and dogs from rural shelters and puppy mills to rescue organizations. STS also sponsors the vet care\, boarding expenses and other costs when needed to help save an animal’s life. Additionally\, STS has a program that helps with many local municipalities’ spay and neuter programs in order to help control the pet population. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is a rain or shine event.
