If the City of Columbus does not allow up a permit due to COVID-19 we will mail out all race packets \nAbout the Charity\nThe Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio (OCAO) is an advocate for those affected by ovarian cancer. Our mission is to promote early detection of ovarian cancer with advocacy\, education\, awareness\, and public outreach to improve outcomes and help save lives. We also work to support women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer\, as well as their family members. \nOur vision is to have the best volunteer workforce that embraces our core values and mission. We work with people touched by ovarian cancer to help communicate our mission. Our brand is based on integrity and credibility. Our plan is to grow by welcoming more volunteers for committee positions and organization events. Our fundraising success allows us to meet our strategic plan\, vision and mission. \nAdvocacy\, Education\, Awareness and Public Outreach\nOCAO strives to improve outcomes for the ovarian cancer community by working with policy makers and other ovarian cancer advocates. By building these relationships\, we hope to improve the lives of those affected by ovarian cancer. \nWe believe that the best way to prevent ovarian cancer is to know the symptoms of the disease and what factors put a woman at a higher risk. OCAO places high value on educating women and healthcare providers\, which can help save lives until early detection tests are available. We help raise awareness by relaying our message through local campaigns and events and we work to make ovarian cancer and its symptoms known. OCAO identifies the serious nature of ovarian cancer to all women through communication. We utilize mass media outlets to heighten the public’s awareness of our mission. DESCRIPTION:We are having the 2020 Farm Mudder. But things will look different. Due to a variety of factors\, this\nyear’s Farm Mudder will be more of a trail run\, and less of a mud run. There will still be some obstacles\nbut it will look different than year’s past. And because of this\, we are cutting the price from $50 to $25.\nThe race will be a 5k distance event.\n(the distances won’t be exact\, but they will be close).\nOur goal is to provide a race for the running community\, and to raise some money for Harvest Hills\nMinistries (and through them\, Timbernook camps).\nWe are taking COVID-19 seriously\, so we are going to be implementing some guidelines\, and through\nthese changes\, we believe that our race will not be much different than if you were to go on a run at a\nlocal park.\nWe will have small heats (limited to 25 people per heat) every 15 minutes. We ask that you sign up with\nyour family/friends that you are comfortable being around with. And even with our heats we will space\npeople out. DESCRIPTION:  \nCan’t STOP Won’t STOP Running.  Regardless of your running ability\, we challenge you to challenge yourself and go beyond your limits.  Run or walk\, this is not about the fastest\, but those that can remain consistent and endure over 10 weeks. Runners will log their miles on Strava between June 1\, 2020\, and August 9\, 2020\, after which time\, all runners that complete over 200 miles will have their name added to the back of the t-shirt.  The question isn’t will you challenge yourself\, but how far will you push your limits. The answer remains to be seen; where will your name fall? \nMake sure you click the Strava link below and join our club. We will be tallying miles off the clubs page weekly\, and updating a leader board each Monday.  Your shirt will be mailed out the week of August 17th – once final miles are calculated and the shirts are ready. Your team will rotate through a 1 mile loop course\, each person takes a turn\, then another\, then another\, then another.  Completing as many laps as they can during the 2 hour window.  You will run with a track baton that contains an timing chip.  Your laps will be counted electronically\, and results will be updated as each team finishes.  We will even capture finisher photos for each member of each team!! \nRace will be scored as men’s teams\, women’s teams\, and co-ed teams (2 men\, 2 women). But\, bring water bottles (or cups\, or whatever vessel of your choosing)\, and your own snacks. \nCourse will be on public sidewalk\, open to walkers\, dogs\, other runners\, whoever. This also means driveways and cars.  There are no traffic lights\, or major intersections… But\, a few small side streets where the car should stop\, and you have the right of way on the sidewalk – but\, be smart\, and safe. \nCOURSE
