The 2026 event will again offer a virtual option for supporters from around the nationProceeds are used for scholarships and the financial needs of seminarians at the Pontifical College Josephinum. \n\n\n\nSince 1984\, the Friends of the Josephinum have provided financial support to Josephinum seminarians\, assisting with the cost of tuition\, textbooks\, clothing\, medical care\, dental care\, eye care and emergency travel needs of the seminarians. It is the same race\, with a similar mission: Supporting Local Veterans. This is a point-to-point road 10k with rolling hills.The Race starts in front of Bridge Street Middle. It turns left at the light and continues on National Road\, through Elm Grove\, Dimmydale\, Woodsdale\, all the way up to the Mount Wood Overlook. Then downhill on Stone Blvd into Chapline Street. Finishing with a turn onto 16th street in front of Helping Heroes new headquarters. \n\n\n\n• Packet pickup and day of registration will occur at Bridge Street Middle School Parking Lot starting at 7:30 am• Suggested parking is downtown (street parking around 14th Street\, Northern Community College lots or Wesbanco Arena Parking Garage.• Buses will take participants from downtown to the start line at Bridge Street Middle School. Buses will leave from 44 16th Street at approx. at 7:30\, 7:45\, 8:00 and 8:15.• You can park at Bridge Street Middle. But no buses will run to Bridge Street after the event.• The Award Ceremony starts at 10:30 for Runners and 11:30 for Walkers. There is a 5K and a 1.5 mile option for the run/walk\, and virtual option. \n\n\n\nGet ready for a scenic and festive Thanksgiving run through the heart of downtown Delaware!Your race begins and ends on charming East Winter Street\, near the library\, passing by local favorites The Strand Theatre\, 1808 and Mi Cerrito on your way to dash up historic Sandusky Street. Then it’s a smooth cruise down Wilmer before hitting an out-and-back stretch on Henry Street — a perfect place to find your rhythm. Then a unique crossing over the pedestrian bridge above Route 23\, offering epic views and a fun change of pace. From there\, it’s a final push down East Winter to the finish line celebration where it all began. \n\n\n\nThis the Thanksgiving Day tradition your family will look forward to every year! \n\n\n\nPlease note: portions of this course are coned down the middle\, maintaining traffic patterns\, so please be aware and stay inside the designed course. DESCRIPTION:HALF MARATHON:The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon begins at 7:30 AM in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA WV State Championship. The rolling course will take you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. You will finish the race to the cheers of thousands of spectators lined up on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade. \n\n\n\nAll participants in the Half Marathon will get a tech shirt\, pre-race pasta dinner\, finishers medal\, & post-race pizza luncheon. \n\n\n\nTWO MILE RACE:Starting line is at Third and Juliana streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage and the finish line is at Sixth and Market streets. The Two Mile Race is the RRCA West Virginia Championship.
