At the beginning of the race\, we will be remembering those lost by reading their names while releasing butterflies. We invite the CHD community of heart warriors\, parents\, siblings\, family\, doctors\, nurses\, etc. to all come out in remembrance with us. Afterwards\, we invite you to join us for dinner together.  \nAll funds raised will be used by PCHA Ohio in direct support of local families\, including providing dinners to inpatient families\, educational events\, and Conquering CHD kits for Children’s Hospital.\n \nThe Pediatric Congenital Heart Association\nThe Pediatric Congenital Heart Association’s mission is to “Conquer Congenital Heart Disease.” We are accomplishing this through collaboration with patients\, parents\, providers\, and partner organizations to improve quality and outcomes through CHD education\, support\, research and awareness. \nThe Congenital Heart Network is a program of PCHA\, aimed at improving the lives of those with congenital heart disease and their families through direct support and education – meeting families where they are. There will be 10 lifting divisions. \n\n\n\nAge \nMen \nWomen\n\n\n(minimum age 16\,\nwith parental consent)\n% of body weight\n% of body weight\n\n\n 39 and under\n 100%\n70%\n\n\n 40-49\n 90%\n60%\n\n\n 50-59\n 80%\n50%\n\n\n 60-69\n 70%\n40%\n\n\n 70 and over\n 60%\n40%\n\n\n *minimum lift 45 pounds\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nThis will allow a runner to reduce their run time by 15 minutes based on 30 reps (maximum allowed). If they bench press their weight 10 times – 5 minutes will be taken off the finish running time. If the first attempt is unsuccessful\, it will be noted as a “0”\, and no time will be deducted from the 5K. Rep-bar must touch athlete’s chest and be fully extended or a no count will be given. Bench press will be judged by the U.S. Marines. \nAthletes must wear running shoes at weigh-in. \nSpecial awards for the top 3 men and women finishers. All finishers will receive medals. Run/Walk\nThis 5K Run/Walk occurs on the bike path\, with runners and walkers lining up at the starting line adjacent to the Xenia Station Hub. We will have the race registration and administration table located at the Xenia Station picnic shelter. Participants can enjoy chocolate candies during and after the run/walk. We will be awarding chocolate baskets to the first two participants to cross the finish line. We will also have a variety of chocolate treats to share after the race/walk is over. \nThe 5K Got Chocolate? The Redbud Trail Challenge is a grueling Trail Hike/Run to benefit Ohio Wilderness Boys Camp (OWBC). Bring the whole family to participate and choose between a 5K\, 10K\, or 20K trail course. It will be run on OWBC’s rugged 600 acre forested property located in the hills of Southeast Ohio. \nThe OWBC RedBud Trail Challenge. . .\nThe Redbud Trail Challenge will do just that: Challenge your will\, mind\, and body just to finish this course. But it will be worth every bit of energy and will-power you spend. The trail will go through 2 primitive campsites (the 5K will go through 1 campsite) which the boys built and where they reside. A few more unique features are crossing the 68′ span “Nehemiah” suspension bridge (which the boys built)\, the beautiful springtime forest lush with Redbud and Dogwood blossoms\, and huge boulders along the trail. \nThere will be 3 refreshment/first aid stations (2 on the 5K course) spread out over the course of the trail. The 10K trail is strenuous and has over 1\,700′ of elevation gain and is approximately 40% technical single track and 60% old logging trails. The 20K trail will be twice around the 10K course and is not for the faint of heart. The 5K is perfect for the whole family because it is less rugged for those who want the fun of hiking in the woods\, but not the difficulty and length of the 10K or 20K. All participants who register on or before April 26\, 2018 will receive a race t-shirt and a gift from OWBC. You also can wait to register until Race Day from 7:15 – 8:30 am (Race Day registration costs $5 more). This is also a family friendly event. DESCRIPTION:  \nRun With The Pack is a 5K run/walk with timing chip or 1 mile fun run to benefit Pets Without Parents\, a no-kill\, non-profit\, all breed\, dog and cat rescue in Columbus\, Ohio. \nSince our first run in 2007\, Run With The Pack has served as the biggest fundraiser of the year for Pets Without Parents Animal Shelter. Pets Without Parents is an all-breed\, no-kill\, non-profit shelter for dogs and cats located in the Clintonville area of Columbus\, Ohio. Adoptions fees only cover ~31% of the total cost of care for our pets. We rely on fundraisers like these to make our rescue efforts possible! \nCome and see what everyone has been barking about! There will be vendors\, food\, music\, prizes and other give-a-ways\, adoptable dogs from Pets Without Parents\, and lots of lots of fun for a very special cause! DESCRIPTION:Forever Safe Farm hosts its 5th Annual Camel Crawl 5k Mud Run Obstacle Course at 10:00 AM on July 14th on our rolling pastures at 3155 McCracken Road\, Salem\, OH 44460. Registration opens at 8:30 and Parking is at Kent State Salem Campus. A free shuttle will bring you to and from the race. \nThis 5k race is run over the hills and streams of Forever Safe Farm. This is a charity race to raise funds for the care of the over 100 animals that call Forever Safe Farm forever home. \nAt almost 20 obstacles you will enjoy the challenge. Individual obstacles have a skill level from easy to moderate. The signature obstacle “The Camel Crawl” is two humps that you have to climb up and over\, in the mud…and UNDERGROUND!!! \nExperience Hog Heaven\, the aptly named obstacle\, that will have you jumping (without success)\, wallowing\, and dragging your way out of the mud bog. The Tire Tunnel will have you on your knees crawling through truck and tractor tires suspended on chains…hope you are agile for this one!!! \nPRIZES: Every runner gets a medal but the best time gets the Grand Prize Trophy!! \nSPECTATORS: Not only is this race a blast for the runners but it is really fun to watch or come to support YOUR FAVORITE RUNNER. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to be present our 5th Annual West Akron 5K Run/Walk in collaboration with The Gus Johnson Community Foundation. We aim to bring a wellness initiative to the community while raising funds to create a spirit of philanthropy for the students at John R. Buchtel High School. To date\, our collaboration has been able to donate $23\,000 to the Buchtel Stadium fund. With support and sponsorship from our race committee\, the City of Akron\, The Gus Johnson Community Foundation and the United Women of Wholeness\, we are looking forward to working diligently to continue to raise funds for the Buchtel Cluster of schools. \n \nBuchtel High School opened in 1931 and is named after Akron industrialist and philanthropist John R. Buchtel. Mr. Buchtel helped to organize and finance a number of early Akron firms\, including the Goodrich Corporation. Buchtel High School has been and continues to be a recognized leader in multiple sports categories. The Griffs over the years have achieved championship caliber success in football\, cross country\, swimming\, and track. DESCRIPTION:Abram “Abe” Weinrib said the secret to a long life is kindness. A Holocaust survivor\, he passed away on January 4\, 2015 at the age of 102. His gentle smile and positive outlook could often be found in the Diamond Family Fitness Center where he would work out and stay fit\, well into his 90s. He visited with friends at the JCC every day\, which kept him young and vibrant. His presence is still felt throughout the Center\, where his youthful spirit lives on. We honor his memory and love of physical fitness with The Abe Weinrib Memorial 5K and Kids Dash.  \nEvent will begin and end on the back grounds of the JCC and heads out to the beautifully-paved Alum Creek Bike Trail. Strollers and walkers are welcome! DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n  \nPolice Wives of Ohio was founded in 2012 by Anna S. and has grown into an organization with four charters. Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support to Law Enforcement and their families throughout the State of Ohio. Police Wives of Ohio has sent out hundreds of cards and many care packages to injured Law Enforcement Officers. Our team has raised more than $6\,000 for the families of injured and families of fallen officers. For Police week PWOO members provided over 5\,000 officers with goody bags\, food\, and more to show them that we care and are proud of the hard work they put in every day with little to no thanks. For more information about Police Wives of Ohio\, please visit our website at www.policewivesofohio.org. While our past work has consistently been raised through donations\, with the growing need for support\, our budget must now be supplemented with fundraising. With that in mind\, the Mansfield Area Charter of Police Wives of Ohio will be hosting a 5K on September 8\, 2018. Funds received from sponsorships are used to purchase T-shirts for registered race participants and volunteers\, awards\, and complimentary drinks and snacks for participants. Any additional money from sponsorships will help go toward our fundraising goal of $1\,000 to support law enforcement agencies in our area. SUMMARY:40th Annual Indian Run
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThe Hocking Hills Indian Run trail winds through vast wooded areas of the Hocking Hills State Park (HHSP) and the Hocking State Forest\, crossing small streams\, uphill and down. The route covers some dirt roadways and pavement. The deep gorges shimmering waterfalls and lush forests provide the ultimate challenge to your powers of concentration. Choose between 60K\, 40K\, 20K\, 10K\, and 5K runs. The 60k run (37.28 miles) steps off at 7 a.m. The 40k race (24.85 miles) will begin at 8 a.m. The other races (5k\, 10k and 20k) are individual starts between 9 and 11 a.m. Each runner has an individual start and finish time recorded for them. \nThe 20k\, 40k and 60k races start at the Naturalist Cabin. (The 60k trail follows the 20k trail three times; the 40k follows it twice.) The path runs through the Hocking Hills State Park Cottages\, onto Route 664\, up Steel Hill Road\, along Chapel Ridge Road\, then into the Hocking Hills State Forest on the Queer Ridge Trail. From here it passes through the Cedar Falls area in Hocking Hills State Park\, through the forest to Rose Lake\, through the Old Man’s Cave campground\, over the A-Frame Bridge at Old Man’s Cave\, past the Naturalist’s Cabin at the Old Man’s Cave Visitors Center\, then up the hill back toward the Dining Lodge. Water stops are located at Steel Hill/Chapel Ridge Road\, Cedar Falls parking lot\, at the beginning of the Campground and at the Naturalist’s Cabin. Water stops are manned beginning at 8 a.m. so 60k’ers are invited to “stash” their own water/snacks around the course if that would be helpful to them. Fruit and water are available to 60k’ers at the Naturalist Cabin as they pass by. \n10k runners meet at the Hocking Hills Naturalist Cabin to register for the race. They are transported by bus to the start location\, which is near Top O the Caves Campground on Chapel Ridge Road in Hocking County. From here the trail passes through the Cedar Falls area in Hocking Hills State Park\, through the forest to Rose Lake\, through the Old Man’s Cave campground\, over the A-Frame Bridge at Old Man’s Cave\, past the Naturalist’s Cabin at the Old Man’s Cave Visitors Center\, then up the hill back toward the Dining Lodge. Water stops are located at the Cedar Falls parking lot\, the beginning of the Camp Ground and at the Naturalist’s Cabin. \n5k runners meet at the Hocking Hills Naturalist Cabin to register for the race.
