DESCRIPTION:HALF MARATHON:The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA WV State Championship. The rolling course will take you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. You will finish the race to the cheers of thousands of spectators lined up on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade. \n\n\n\nAll participants in the Half Marathon will get a tech shirt\, pre-race pasta dinner\, finishers medal\, & post-race pizza luncheon. \n\n\n\nTWO MILE RACE:Starting line is at Third and Juliana streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage and the finish line is at Sixth and Market streets. Owls have been considered omens of good luck\, bad fortune\, impendingdoom\, wisdom\, foolishness\, evil and witchcraft\, and even predictors of weather. Bizarre examples of owl mythology abound around the globe.  \n\n\n\nBehold the HOOT! While summer on the trails offers some of the best trail conditions\, there is no shortage of challenge to be had! The rocks\, the roots\, and the heat of summer bring you our shortest distances\, and the only half marathon we host on the trail.  \n\n\n\nVolunteer! \n\n\n\nMore Details\n\n\n\nWhen – Sunday\, September 6th. DESCRIPTION:The 49th annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Run and Walk will be on Saturday\, May 29. This challenging course is well known for its changes in elevation. The Half Marathon Run and Walk will have prize categories (for male and female) for the Open division. Race towels\, bottled water and fresh fruit will be available for participants. Participants will receive one food voucher. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a shirt. The race committee has determined that official race medals will be given to each finisher of the 48th annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Run and Walk. Rovers on the River\, presented by Play N Stay Pet Camp\, will celebrate that special bond between humans and their four-legged friends.
