Pets Without Parents is an all-breed\, no-kill\, non-profit shelter for dogs and cats located in the Clintonville area of Columbus\, Ohio. Adoptions fees only cover ~31% of the total cost of care for our pets. We rely on fundraisers like these to make our rescue efforts possible! \nCome and see what everyone has been barking about! DESCRIPTION:  \n \n\nAre You Ready for the 2018 Redbud Trail Challenge?\nJoin us for what we think is the “Most Rugged and Beautiful Trail Race in Ohio”. The Redbud Trail Challenge is a grueling Trail Hike/Run to benefit Ohio Wilderness Boys Camp (OWBC). Bring the whole family to participate and choose between a 5K\, 10K\, or 20K trail course. It will be run on OWBC’s rugged 600 acre forested property located in the hills of Southeast Ohio. \nThe OWBC RedBud Trail Challenge. . .\nThe Redbud Trail Challenge will do just that: Challenge your will\, mind\, and body just to finish this course. But it will be worth every bit of energy and will-power you spend. The trail will go through 2 primitive campsites (the 5K will go through 1 campsite) which the boys built and where they reside. A few more unique features are crossing the 68′ span “Nehemiah” suspension bridge (which the boys built)\, the beautiful springtime forest lush with Redbud and Dogwood blossoms\, and huge boulders along the trail. \nThere will be 3 refreshment/first aid stations (2 on the 5K course) spread out over the course of the trail. The 10K trail is strenuous and has over 1\,700′ of elevation gain and is approximately 40% technical single track and 60% old logging trails. The 20K trail will be twice around the 10K course and is not for the faint of heart. The 5K is perfect for the whole family because it is less rugged for those who want the fun of hiking in the woods\, but not the difficulty and length of the 10K or 20K. All participants who register on or before April 26\, 2018 will receive a race t-shirt and a gift from OWBC. You also can wait to register until Race Day from 7:15 – 8:30 am (Race Day registration costs $5 more). After the event\, get refreshed and fellowship with your friends while enjoying a scrumptious meal for the whole family. Post run beer for each runner provided by Sam Adams. \nThe 5K and 1 mile event is produced by the YPs Against Diabetes (YPAD). Speedos are encouraged\, but not mandatory\, but we do encourage fun\, festive holiday wear. \nThere will be several awards such as; top fundraisers\, best dressed and fastest male and female Dashers.\n\n\nThis year we expect over 400 participants.  We hope that you will join us in this great event to help raise funds for our local nonprofit that has been part of the central Ohio community for over 53 years. 100% of our funding comes from the community to help Central Ohioans living with diabetes detect their condition\, prevent onset and complications\, and learn to live well with the challenge of diabetes. Run/Walk\nThis 5K Run/Walk occurs on the bike path\, with runners and walkers lining up at the starting line adjacent to the Xenia Station Hub. We will have the race registration and administration table located at the Xenia Station picnic shelter. Participants can enjoy chocolate candies during and after the run/walk. We will be awarding chocolate baskets to the first two participants to cross the finish line. We will also have a variety of chocolate treats to share after the race/walk is over. \nThe 5K Got Chocolate? We invite the CHD community of heart warriors\, parents\, siblings\, family\, doctors\, nurses\, etc. to all come out in remembrance with us. DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”8″ day=”6″ hour=”8″ minute=”0″] \n \nThe fast and the furriest set the pace! \nThis is the first annual Run! for RESCUEDohio 5k/1M run/walk. It will be held on August 6\, 2017 on Otterbein University’s Cross Country Course! Registration will (tentatively) begin at 7AM\, and the race will start at 8:30AM. Friendly\, vaccinated dogs are welcome! \nThe purpose of this race is to bring awareness to what RESCUEDohio does for dogs in need. In addition to taking in adult dogs\, RESCUEDohio takes in many moms and puppies to help limit exposure to shelter sicknesses. All puppies\, and dogs are given shots and spayed/neutered. All medical needs are taken care of by RESCUEDohio.
