Women and children spend more than 4 hours walking for water each day\, and more than 840\,000 people die each year from water-related diseases. \n\n\n\nOAWWA is teamed up with Water For People to host the 8th annual Northeast Ohio Race For Global Water 5K. DESCRIPTION:Explore. Discover. Understand. Act. Join Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW) at our inaugural Stormwater Runoff 5K. The course will take runners and walkers through Liberty Park where they’ll see and learn about different stormwater management practices to reduce flooding and erosion\, and allow stormwater to soak into the ground or get diverted safely into our watershed’s streams and creeks that feed the Olentangy River. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n – Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n – Facebook\n\n\n\n – Instagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 1-7 is Stormwater Awareness Week in Ohio\, an effort to raise awareness about how stormwater pollution affects our land\, water\, and farms\, and what steps we can take to prevent it. Clean stormwater helps protect our streams\, drinking water\, and the health of Ohio’s natural resources. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds from this event will benefit Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW)\, a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based nonprofit established in 1997 with a mission to keep the Olentangy River and its tributaries clean and safe for all to enjoy\, through public education\, volunteer activities\, and coordination with local decision-makers. \n\n\n\nYour participation (and donation) helps us continue our conservation work\, including tree plantings\, invasive species removal\, stream quality monitoring by citizen scientists\, pollinator garden planting/maintenance\, and litter cleanup efforts (481 tires collected for recycling\, plus over 6\,000 lbs. of trash removed from the watershed in 2025 alone!) Spend the day being in the community of like-minded women and end the night with our fall festival as have a live concert\, bonfire\, food trucks and more. \n\n\n\nWe’re proud to partner with Susan G. Komen\, with a portion of every registration supporting breast cancer awareness and survivor initiatives. You’ll also have the opportunity to sponsor a survivor’s registration\, helping more women courageously step onto the competition floor. \n\n\n\nEvery registered athlete receives a custom finisher medal\, athlete bag\, race bib (where applicable)\, and access to a full day of inspiration\, community\, and celebration. \n\n\n\nNo matter your age\, fitness level\, or experience\, there’s a place for you at Women Xpanding Limits.
