Will you brave the elements to track him down??​Each year just as the season turns\, hundreds of Squatch enthusiasts descend upon the woods of Alum Creek in search of the elusive Autumn Squatch.  The first recorded sighting was in the fall of 2012\, with multiple sightings over the years. \n\n\n\n​The Autumn Squatch is most commonly seen poking around the Rocks and Roots trail on late autumn nights as he passes through on his way south for the winter. To celebrate the coming of the Squatch we invite you to join us in hopes of catching a glimpse!​ \n\n\n\nWhen – Sunday\, November 1st. All races start at 8am.  \n\n\n\nWhat –  10K\, 20K\, or 50K Trail Race \n\n\n\nWhere – The Rocks and Roots Trail at Alum Creek State Park. The start of the race is located just off of Hollenback Rd and just south of the dog park(3993 Hollenback Rd Lewis Center\, OH 43035). \n\n\n\nCost – Our races typically sell out 2-6 weeks prior to race day. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to wear a costume\, gather family and friends\, and enjoy a meaningful day of movement and community. The event supports Kateswell and its Leslie Ungerott Fund\, which provides direct financial assistance to Central Ohio families facing cancer. This support helps with real life needs such as housing\, utilities\, food\, medical expenses and transportation\, allowing families to focus on what matters most. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors\, the costs of producing the race are covered. That means 100% of every registration and donation goes to helping families. Sponsorships help fund the race\, along with improvements across Norwood Park System. To date\, we’ve donated nearly $105K and hope to raise over $50K this year to increase community impact. 100% of proceeds will always go back to municipal needs and initiatives that benefit the community\, with a focus on Norwood parks. Gem of the Highlands 5K first project was $16\,000 to the basketball court restoration at Waterworks Park. As a completely volunteer-led organization\, we will continue to focus our proceeds and donations on improving Norwood parks again this year. It is the same race\, with a similar mission: Supporting Local Veterans. This is a point-to-point road 10k with rolling hills.The Race starts in front of Bridge Street Middle. It turns left at the light and continues on National Road\, through Elm Grove\, Dimmydale\, Woodsdale\, all the way up to the Mount Wood Overlook. Then downhill on Stone Blvd into Chapline Street. Finishing with a turn onto 16th street in front of Helping Heroes new headquarters. \n\n\n\n• Packet pickup and day of registration will occur at Bridge Street Middle School Parking Lot starting at 7:30 am• Suggested parking is downtown (street parking around 14th Street\, Northern Community College lots or Wesbanco Arena Parking Garage.• Buses will take participants from downtown to the start line at Bridge Street Middle School. Buses will leave from 44 16th Street at approx. at 7:30\, 7:45\, 8:00 and 8:15.• You can park at Bridge Street Middle. There is a Kid’s run (Little Gobbler) for ages 8 and under. There is a 5K and a 1.5 mile option for the run/walk\, and virtual option. \n\n\n\nGet ready for a scenic and festive Thanksgiving run through the heart of downtown Delaware!Your race begins and ends on charming East Winter Street\, near the library\, passing by local favorites The Strand Theatre\, 1808 and Mi Cerrito on your way to dash up historic Sandusky Street. Then it’s a smooth cruise down Wilmer before hitting an out-and-back stretch on Henry Street — a perfect place to find your rhythm. Then a unique crossing over the pedestrian bridge above Route 23\, offering epic views and a fun change of pace. From there\, it’s a final push down East Winter to the finish line celebration where it all began. \n\n\n\nThis the Thanksgiving Day tradition your family will look forward to every year! \n\n\n\nPlease note: portions of this course are coned down the middle\, maintaining traffic patterns\, so please be aware and stay inside the designed course. Sandusky Street from William to Wilmer will have the parking lane and one lane to run in (running on the far left lane). Additionally Winter Street from Lake St to Estelle St will be coned down the middle (runners on the right lane). \n\n\n\nRun for a Cause. This event donates 100% of it’s proceeds to the Autism Society Central OH (ASCO). We’ve donated nearly $232\,000 to date. We will be bringing back the Race Medal this year again as we had a ton of great feedback. In addition to the newly added finishers medal\, we will continue the tradition of partnering with the local elementary schools to create race magnets designed by the kids. \n\n\n\nWe are also bringing back the 4-Pack of beer from Nocterra Brewing Company\, OR the option of a specially designed Race Sock. You will have the choice to pick either the four-pack of beer or a pair of race socks.
