Our team has raised more than $6\,000 for the families of injured and families of fallen officers. For Police week PWOO members provided over 5\,000 officers with goody bags\, food\, and more to show them that we care and are proud of the hard work they put in every day with little to no thanks. DESCRIPTION:Abram “Abe” Weinrib said the secret to a long life is kindness. A Holocaust survivor\, he passed away on January 4\, 2015 at the age of 102. His gentle smile and positive outlook could often be found in the Diamond Family Fitness Center where he would work out and stay fit\, well into his 90s. He visited with friends at the JCC every day\, which kept him young and vibrant. His presence is still felt throughout the Center\, where his youthful spirit lives on. We honor his memory and love of physical fitness with The Abe Weinrib Memorial 5K and Kids Dash.  \nEvent will begin and end on the back grounds of the JCC and heads out to the beautifully-paved Alum Creek Bike Trail. DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”10″ day=”29″ hour=”15″ minute=”0″] \n \nThis is the 3rd annual Central Ohio CHD Angel 5k – remembering all those who lost their lives too soon to Congenital Heart Defects. At the beginning of the race\, we will be remembering those lost by reading their names while releasing butterflies. We invite the CHD community of heart warriors\, parents\, siblings\, family\, doctors\, nurses\, etc. to all come out in remembrance with us. Afterwards\, we invite you to join us for dinner together.  \nAll funds raised will be used by PCHA Ohio in direct support of local families\, including providing dinners to inpatient families\, educational events\, and Conquering CHD kits for Children’s Hospital.\n \nThe Pediatric Congenital Heart Association\nThe Pediatric Congenital Heart Association’s mission is to “Conquer Congenital Heart Disease.” We are accomplishing this through collaboration with patients\, parents\, providers\, and partner organizations to improve quality and outcomes through CHD education\, support\, research and awareness. \nThe Congenital Heart Network is a program of PCHA\, aimed at improving the lives of those with congenital heart disease and their families through direct support and education – meeting families where they are. Through local activities like peer-to-peer support\, care package distribution and educational materials\, we are working directly with patients\, families and medical professionals impacting one life at a time. Hockey is for Everyone supports non-profit youth hockey organizations that are committed to offering children of all backgrounds opportunities to play hockey. \nNot just concerned with on-ice development\, the Columbus Ice Hockey Club is devoted to developing life skills\, such as teamwork\, responsibility\, and leadership\, in its members. As a division of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department\, the club has served over 40\,000 youth since 1999. DESCRIPTION:[countdown year=”2017″ month=”9″ day=”4″ hour=”7″ minute=”0″] \n \nThe Kilbourne 5K has been an annual Labor Day race since 1991. This event is open to the community and supports the Worthington Kilbourne Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams. \nThe family-friendly and fast-paced course is run through the Worthington Hills neighborhood with a start and finish at Worthington Hills Elementary School. The race is organized and supported by the Kilbourne athletes and the Worthington Kilbourne Cross Country Boosters organization. T-shirts are also included with registration\, however the Women’s T-Shirts are junior-cut\, so consider sizing up from what you would normally wear. \nRunners and walkers are welcome on the timed 5K course.
