SUMMARY:The Alicia Jarvis Butterfly Wagon 5K/Kids Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Alicia Jarvis Butterfly Wagon 5K & Kids Fun Run is being held to honor our daughter\, sister\, niece\, cousin\, friend and inspiration\, Alicia.  Alicia was a beautiful\, smart\, and loving 17 year old junior student at Hamilton Township High School who was a member of the band. After she experienced a fall and was not improving\, that is when we heard the unthinkable words of a brain tumor on her brain stem that was inoperable.  While we were all trying to process the news\, Ali remained positive and upbeat even giving her doctors nicknames and sharing lots of smiles.  Ali was determined to pursue a degree in electrical engineering from Alabama University\, even after being told of her diagnosis.  Ali began treatment in March of 2014 and the brain tumor did not respond to the treatment and instead grew.  After many heartbreaking weeks as a patient at Nationwide Children’s Hospital we decided to bring Ali home for her final days.  During our time at Children’s we experienced the outpouring of support and encouragement from everyone we encountered.  Watching families\, who were also dealing with their own crisis and seeing that somedays the smallest things made you smile.  This year to honor our loved and extremely missed\, Alicia we wanted to purchase a Butterfly Wagon in her memory.  These wagons are used by the families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to provide help transporting the children and their items during their time at the hospital. SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Wattle
DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Wattle will take place on Grove City\, Ohio’s Buckeye Parkway. This will be our 11th Consecutive Wattle. We plan to offer a:Primrose Children’s Run; Turkey Leg 100 Run; 5K Walk/Run; and a 13.4  Mile Rotisserie Roll Bike Ride.  All of this is set for November 24\, 2022. \nParticipants in the Turkey Leg 100\, 5k Run/Walk and 12 Mile Rotisserie Roll Bike Ride will receive a Pumpkin Pie at the Finish. Long sleeve Shirts will also be given out at Event Week packet pick up. We will have music on the course\, at the Finish Line and we will offer Finish Line Refreshments. There will be no water station on the course. NEW IN 2022; Finisher Medals will be available for $5 as an add-on item only. 750 in total were ordered. As of 10/1/2022\, 600 remain inventory. This will help us keep our base pricing unchanged for 9 straight years\, and only purchase for those who desire it. BACK from 2020: We had a limited Wattle due to COVID in 2020\, that year we offered a sweatshirt and many of our customers liked it\, we will bring the sweatshirt back this year as our Long Sleeve Shirt for the 5K/ Rotisserie Roll and Turkey Leg 100. FINALLY: To be an event that is valued and available to the broadest family audience\, we will have athletes of all abilities\, some with visible and invisible disabilities accommodated at our event. We ask for your understanding and support as this is a key driver as to why we are not allowing pets to participate. DESCRIPTION:This is the 9th Annual Thanksgiving Wattle 5K Run/Walk in Grove City\, Ohio. We are calling this year’s event a HYBRID Event. This means we will offer an in-person option and a virtual option for the 5K and the 12 Mile Rotisserie Roll Bike Ride. (We will be offering an in-person run only for the Primrose Children’s Run.) The in-person events are scheduled for Thanksgiving Day Morning\, November 26\, 2020. The Virtual Options can be done anytime from November 25th-November 26th.
