One where kids could come and try out running events if they were new to it\, or challenge themselves to run further or faster than they had before. Maybe even get ready for their cross country season in the fall! \n\n\n\nSo what is this?\n\n\n\nA three event race series to take place in June\, July\, and August! \n\n\n\nRACE DATESJUNE 11th JULY 16thAUGUST 13thThe races will start promptly at 6:00pm in the evening\, so parents and kiddos can get to the races on time!  \n\n\n\nSounds great! Where are the races?\n\n\n\nWe have a loop course at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. The races will start at the Dog Park area of the park (Google Maps pin here)Course Map (1 and 2 mile options)available here Course Map (1/2 mile option) available here \n\n\n\nThat’s fun! Where/when will that be?\n\n\n\nPacket pick-up will be at the Fleet Feet Lewis Center location (google maps address here) \n\n\n\nThe event series packet pick-up will be at Fleet Feet Lewis Center.PPU Dates/Times are as follows:Wednesday June 11th 11am-5:15pm \n\n\n\nWednesday July 9th 11am – 5:15pm \n\n\n\nWednesday August 13th 11am – 4:30pm \n\n\n\nWill there be on-site Race Day registration and/or Packet Pick-Up?\n\n\n\nWe will have race day registration\, and packet pick-up!If you are registering on-site on race day\, be sure to bring your phone and/or credit card as our friends at Race Penguin will have a QR code to sign up using your phone.Volunteers may be able to assist you by walking you through on your phone\, but may not be able to help sign you up. \n\n\n\nHow do I choose the distance my athlete will race? Can they switch distances? \n\n\n\nSure thing! We understand that young athletes have their ups and downs just like adult athletes. It’s best to talk with your athlete multiple times before race day to see what distance they’d like to run. Try to ask them if they’d like to beat their previous best mile time\, or try a new distance. It’s always good to remind athletes that it’s ok to be nervous about a race\, but just remind them that they’ll learn something from each race experience no matter how it goes. \n\n\n\nAthletes should try to make their decision before the race if possible\, but if they need to switch after doing one loop they need to immediately tell the Race Penguin timing staff so we can ensure correct results.If they are switching from the 1/2-mile race to another distance\, DO NOT START WITH THE OTHER 1/2 MILE RACERS. Please see the Race Penguin staff before the start of the race you’re planning on racing so they can switch you. \n\n\n\nYou will select your distance FOR ALL THREE EVENTS during registration. SUMMARY:Strawberry Festival 5k
DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis flat\, fast course starts in the village and runs South out of town through the industrial park and then winds through some of the streets and alleys in the village back to the finish line. \n\n\n\nWe have the Seedling Scamper is a free kids run for ages 10 & under that takes place before the 5K.  It is about 1/2 mile long\, and the kids get to cross the finish line\, for a photo finish for the parents. In past years\, Finley’s Smile has developed a Games in Schools program\, within several libraries in Worthington Schools. Finley’s Smile has also helped to provide funding for a family play space at the Delaware YMCA\, a community art event with the Boardman Arts Park\, night hike programs at Ohio Wildlife Center\, community gardening programs with Together We Grow Gardens\, programs for children in foster care with Caring for Kids\, obstacles at Gators Bike Park\, a community mountain bike park\, playground space at Harvest Hills Ministries\, as well as many other wonderful organizations over the past 5 years – totaling over $63\,000. \n\n\n\nNew this year! 2.5K The race course for the 5K is 2 laps around the park trail. There is a 5K and a 1.5 mile option for the run/walk\, and virtual option. \n\n\n\nNew Course in 2025.  \n\n\n\nGet ready for a scenic and festive Thanksgiving run through the heart of downtown Delaware!Your race begins and ends on charming East Winter Street\, near the library\, passing by local favorites The Strand Theatre\, 1808 and Mi Cerrito on your way to dash up historic Sandusky Street. Then it’s a smooth cruise down Wilmer before hitting an out-and-back stretch on Henry Street — a perfect place to find your rhythm. Then a unique crossing over the pedestrian bridge above Route 23\, offering epic views and a fun change of pace. From there\, it’s a final push down East Winter to the finish line celebration where it all began. \n\n\n\nThis the Thanksgiving Day tradition your family will look forward to every year! \n\n\n\nPlease note: portions of this course are coned down the middle\, maintaining traffic patterns\, so please be aware and stay inside the designed course. Sandusky Street from William to Wilmer will have the parking lane and one lane to run in (running on the far left lane). One where kids could come and try out running events if they were new to it\, or challenge themselves to run further or faster than they had before. Maybe even get ready for their cross country season in the fall! \n\n\n\nSo what is this?\n\n\n\nA three event race series to take place in June\, July\, and August! \n\n\n\nRACE DATESJUNE 11th JULY 16thAUGUST 13thThe races will start promptly at 6:00pm in the evening\, so parents and kiddos can get to the races on time!  \n\n\n\nSounds great! Where are the races?\n\n\n\nWe have a loop course at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. The races will start at the Dog Park area of the park (Google Maps pin here)Course Map (1 and 2 mile options)available here Course Map (1/2 mile option) available here \n\n\n\nThat’s fun! Where/when will that be?\n\n\n\nPacket pick-up will be at the Fleet Feet Lewis Center location (google maps address here) \n\n\n\nThe event series packet pick-up will be at Fleet Feet Lewis Center.PPU Dates/Times are as follows:Wednesday June 11th 11am-5:15pm \n\n\n\nWednesday July 9th 11am – 5:15pm \n\n\n\nWednesday August 13th 11am – 4:30pm \n\n\n\nWill there be on-site Race Day registration and/or Packet Pick-Up?\n\n\n\nWe will have race day registration\, and packet pick-up!If you are registering on-site on race day\, be sure to bring your phone and/or credit card as our friends at Race Penguin will have a QR code to sign up using your phone.Volunteers may be able to assist you by walking you through on your phone\, but may not be able to help sign you up. \n\n\n\nHow do I choose the distance my athlete will race? Can they switch distances? \n\n\n\nSure thing! We understand that young athletes have their ups and downs just like adult athletes. It’s best to talk with your athlete multiple times before race day to see what distance they’d like to run. Try to ask them if they’d like to beat their previous best mile time\, or try a new distance. It’s always good to remind athletes that it’s ok to be nervous about a race\, but just remind them that they’ll learn something from each race experience no matter how it goes. \n\n\n\nAthletes should try to make their decision before the race if possible\, but if they need to switch after doing one loop they need to immediately tell the Race Penguin timing staff so we can ensure correct results.If they are switching from the 1/2-mile race to another distance\, DO NOT START WITH THE OTHER 1/2 MILE RACERS. Please see the Race Penguin staff before the start of the race you’re planning on racing so they can switch you. \n\n\n\nYou will select your distance FOR ALL THREE EVENTS during registration. SUMMARY:The Alicia Jarvis Butterfly Wagon 5K/Kids Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Alicia Jarvis Butterfly Wagon 5K & Kids Fun Run is being held to honor our daughter\, sister\, niece\, cousin\, friend and inspiration\, Alicia.  Alicia was a beautiful\, smart\, and loving 17 year old junior student at Hamilton Township High School who was a member of the band. After she experienced a fall and was not improving\, that is when we heard the unthinkable words of a brain tumor on her brain stem that was inoperable.  While we were all trying to process the news\, Ali remained positive and upbeat even giving her doctors nicknames and sharing lots of smiles.  Ali was determined to pursue a degree in electrical engineering from Alabama University\, even after being told of her diagnosis.  Ali began treatment in March of 2014 and the brain tumor did not respond to the treatment and instead grew.  After many heartbreaking weeks as a patient at Nationwide Children’s Hospital we decided to bring Ali home for her final days.  During our time at Children’s we experienced the outpouring of support and encouragement from everyone we encountered.  Watching families\, who were also dealing with their own crisis and seeing that somedays the smallest things made you smile.  This year to honor our loved and extremely missed\, Alicia we wanted to purchase a Butterfly Wagon in her memory.  These wagons are used by the families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to provide help transporting the children and their items during their time at the hospital.
