It will start at Floral Ave & Washington Ave and showcase the beautiful presidential district of Norwood\, including Wasson Way. Since our inception eight years ago\, the Gem of the Highlands 5K has donated more than $90\,000 in race proceeds. The new basketball courts at Waterworks Park and the dog park at Upper Millcrest Park have received the majority of our funding\, but smaller donations have been made to cover mulch\, grass seed and other general needs at five Norwood parks in beautification efforts. As a completely volunteer-led organization\, we will continue to focus our proceeds and donations on improving Norwood parks again this year. The race begins at Hilliard United Methodist Church and takes runners and walkers through the beautiful paths of Hilliard Municipal Park. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to enjoy a brisk fall morning with friends and family\, this event is a great way to give back. \n\n\n\nProceeds from the Thankful 5K go directly to the Thanksgiving Outreach Program\, which provides food and essentials to individuals and families in our community during the holiday season.
