DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n – Facebook\n\n\n\n – Instagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 13th annual Fit Family 5k Run and Walk Race takes place on Saturday\, September 14th\, 2024. The race starts on the campus of Walsh University and runs through the surrounding neighborhoods. Finishing on the campus\, runners will hear the support from volunteers as they approach the downhill finish. After the race\, there will be post-race music\, awards\, coffee\, and bake sale! This fast road race serves as an excellent tune up for the Akron Marathon on Friday\, September 27th\, 2024!  \n\n\n\nIn addition to the 5k race\, there will also be a Kids’ Fun Run! The fun run will take place in the center of campus where the kids will complete a two-lap course in the beautiful academic circle of campus. After the fun run\, there will be awards with exciting prizes. Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in fun activities supervised by Walsh Physical Therapy students! DESCRIPTION:– Register\n\n\n\n – Donate\n\n\n\n – Results\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Race Postponed till Fall 2025*\n\n\n\nA 50k race to test your endurance in an enclosed park with all the challenges! There are some gradual climbs and a potential creek crossing (weather-dependent) on all ten laps. There will a designated area for athletes to set up camps to get through the day. The park also has a new playground for family to get there exercise! The event is a fundraiser for the Tiffin YMCA’s backpack program which feeds many families on weekends. Athletes will receive a custom TF50k and finishers will earn a custom TF50k finisher medal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrice Schedule50KHTF50K (Relay)*Through Aug 20th$125$150Aug 20 – Sep 12th$150$175*Teams of 2. Each individual registers at $75 / 82.5 per person\, then creates/joins a team.\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule of Events6:00am: Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup Begins7:35 am: Pre Race Meeting7:52 am: Runners Must Enter Corral8:00 am: Loop 1 BeginsLoops 2-7 will begin 1 hour after the previous loop began.\n\n\n\n\n\nLoop 7 – 10 Instructions: \n\n\n\nRACE LOOP REQUIREMENTS 7-10: (starting with loop #7\, add an hour for the other loops. For the final THREE loops) The recovery time is 2 minutes longer so plan accordingly. Getting to the corral is 2 minutes less\, plan accordingly.  2:55 – athletes must be preparing to enter/or have already entered into the corral area. There will be three short horn blasts.  2:59 – last call!! There will be one short horn blast.  3:00 – loop starts. \n\n\n\nFor the final THREE loops – you are allowed ONE pacer. It can be a different runner\,  For the final THREE loops – the cut off time is 45:00. This event offers a unique combination of challenges\, featuring: \n\n\n\n5K Run/Walk: Open to all fitness levels—run\, walk\, or ruck your way through the course.5K Competitive Walk: Perfect for those who love to keep pace and compete on foot.1 Mile Swole Sprint: For those looking to push their limits\, this event combines strength and speed! Participants will bench press their body weight (100% for men under 45\, 50% for men over 45 and all women) before starting their 1-mile sprint. For every bench press rep completed\, 5 seconds will be deducted from your mile time (up to a maximum of 30 reps = 2 minutes 30 seconds off). Participants will be weighed on-site to ensure fairness. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds from the event will go directly to a local veteran’s or first responder’s family who have fallen on hard times or simply need a little extra support. You can also make additional donations by visiting our fundraiser page or through the race registration process. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re here to compete or simply to support\, your participation makes a difference!
