With a unique start time of 9:00 pm\, to recognize the solemnity of the Purple Heart Medal\, this will surely be a race like no other! \nThe organization now known as the “Military Order of the Purple Heart” was formed in 1932 for the protection and mutual interest of all who have received the decoration. Composed exclusively of Purple Heart recipients\, it is the only veteran’s service organization comprised strictly of combat veterans. Buckeye Purple Heart Foundation is an IRS tax exempt 501(c)19 & 501(c)3 Veterans Service Organization and incorporated in the State of Ohio. Our annual event is held on the Saturday closest to National Purple Heart Day (August 7th). The skyline of Columbus and the trail are lit in purple to set a one of a kind racing atmosphere.  All participants\, including virtual participants\, will receive a t-shirt and commemorative challenge coin for this event.
