DESCRIPTION:This is the 4th Annual Jailbreak 5k and we’re excited for another great event. The Licking County Historic Jail is a landmark of our community and we’re so happy to share it with you and raise critical funds along the way! Chase an escaped inmate across downtown Newark\, OH and get a chance to tour the jail. \n \nThe Licking County Governmental Preservation Society is hosting the race as part of their ongoing awareness and fund raising efforts in support of the Licking County Historic Jail. Since its opening in 1889\, this jail has been an architectural gem in Licking County. It is the Licking County Governmental Preservation Society’s sincere hope and desire to bring the Historic Jail new life through historically accurate renovations.
